Live Oak High School is a public high school located in Watson an unincorporated Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. ==History== Live Oak School began in 1895 when the Reverend Joel Ott donated a parcel of land for a community school. The citizens of Watson built a one room schoolhouse of about 20 x 25 feet. The room was built from wood of cypress trees near the Amite River swamps and boasted one front door and six open windows. This public school was open three months of the year: June, July, and August.〔http://liveoakhs.lpsb.org/Links/School%20History/School%20History.htm〕 In May, 2007, voters in the Live Oak School district passed a half cent sales tax to build a new high school. The old school is being converted into a second middle school for the area. The current high school opened on December 17, 2012, and is located north of the old location on Hwy 16.〔http://theadvocate.com/home/4686970-125/new-live-oak-high-opens〕 In the Fall of 2015, the Louisiana Department of Education released School Performance Scores (SPS). Live Oak High School scored 113.5.
